Leading in a Changing World
With Jorge Perez, President and CEO, YMCA of Greater Cincinnati
Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2019, 7 p.m.
Harold C. Smith Learning Commons Presentation Room
Springfield College, 263 Alden St., Springfield, Mass.
Jorge Perez believes that today’s leaders are facing an increasingly volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous world. Despite significant disruptions in just about every industry, many nonprofit organizations remain relatively unchanged. He wants to see organizations like the Y focus on innovations outside of their current service models: Swim lessons without in-ground pools, fitness classes without buildings, technology as an extension of the member experience, hyper-efficient business models, and cause-driven human development. With a renewed focus on achievement, relationships, and belonging, the tools to accomplish transformation must extend beyond programs. In this presentation, Perez will explore these and other ideas.
Jorge Perez is a nationally recognized nonprofit leader, CEO, manager, and director of large
complex organizations. He’s an accomplished strategic thinker, program innovator, fundraiser, and mission champion. Currently, Perez serves as the president and CEO of the YMCA of Greater Cincinnati and has previously served local Ys across the country and at the YMCA of the USA. He also has volunteered on many national, statewide, and local boards.
